Pathao is looking for a Product Design Engineer who can bridge the gap between Design and Engineering. This role is for someone who understands how digital products are built, works comfortably with technical constraints, and goes beyond Figma to bring ideas closer to production.
The incumbent will have the responsibility to:
- Build high-fidelity, functional code prototypes using HTML/CSS/JS, Cursor, Claude, and other AI-assisted workflows
- Demonstrate behaviours and interactions that are difficult to communicate through static designs
- Work with engineers to improve feasibility, design fidelity, and implementation quality
- Contribute to production UI when needed
- Help shape reusable components, design systems, and shared product patterns
- Consider APIs, states, edge cases, and front-end architecture during design
- Use AI tools to prototype, test, and iterate faster
- Present working prototypes to support product decisions
The incumbent should bring along:
- 3+ years of experience in product design, design engineering, or any related role
- Experience with Figma, Cursor, Claude, and other AI-assisted design and development tools
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and component-based front-end development
- Strong product thinking, interaction design, and problem-solving ability
- Strong visual judgment with a refined eye for typography, spacing, hierarchy, interaction, and product polish
- Experience building coded or highly functional prototypes
- Comfortable discussing technical constraints and trade-offs with engineers
- Strong collaboration, presentation, and attention to detail
- Experience contributing to production code is an added advantage
- Knowledge of Git, APIs, design tokens, and component libraries is an added advantage
